July 3

Sorry everyone for the delay in updating our Blog. Upon arriving in China, we found out that all social websites (blogs, facebook, etc.) are restricted. With the help of my brother though, we can now start regular updates. We arrived perfectly on time and have enjoyed three good days of sightseeing…The Great Wall, The Forbidden City, Tian’amenn Square, and a Silk Factory. We’ve also walked around some as there’s a huge mall near our hotel. It’s extremely westernized here with all the same shops and designer brands as in the US. And, even with 17 million people, we were told that there are no unsafe areas…you can go anywhere at anytime.

Today was our orientation where we (about 20 families) received updates on our kids. Hopefully, Bobby can attach that photo separately as I forwarded it via my iPhone. We were amazed by how big Micah is at 2 ½…36 inches tall and 32 lbs. Given Norah is three days shy of 6 and only weighs 39lbs, we’re impressed by his size. And boy is he a cute kid! They describe him as always smiling, very active and prone to do things his own way (he’ll fit right in with his big sister). He is also potty trained, generally sleeps from 8:30 PM – 6:30 AM (again, an early riser like his big sister) and naps from 1:00-3:00. We are the only family adopting from Anuhi, and travel there tomorrow. We’ll then get Micah on the 5th (your 4th)!

That’s a quick summary so far. I’ll let Tara write details as to our sightseeing.

Tim
